Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 September 2026
StageTap ("we", "us") is a tool that lets live performers receive voluntary support and song requests from their audience. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to comply with the Philippines Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
Information we collect
Performers (account holders). When you create an account we collect your email address and a name or stage name. Optionally you may add a profile photo and short bio. To receive support you provide your GCash mobile number and an optional display name, which are shown to your audience as a payment destination. We also store the songs and gift menu you create, your session activity, and any feedback you submit. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address and basic profile information.
Audience members (no account). When you join a performer's session we collect the nickname you choose and store a random identifier in your browser to prevent spam and to show you the status of your own request. If you send support, we collect the GCash number you paid from and an optional sender name you type, plus any song request or shout-out text you submit. The GCash number is used only so the performer can match your payment; it is visible only to that performer, is stored on your device to save you retyping it, and is deleted with the session data. We do not collect your email address or create an account for you.
Automatically. Basic technical logs such as IP address, timestamps, and error information, used for security and reliability.
What we do not collect
We never collect payment card or bank details or GCash passwords/PINs. StageTap does not process, hold, transfer, or refund any money — payments are made directly between the audience and the performer through GCash.
How we use information
- To operate the service and show live session information.
- To help performers verify the support they receive.
- To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
- To understand product usage in aggregate.
- To respond to feedback and support requests.
What is shown publicly
During a live session, a performer's stage name, photo, bio, gift menu, and GCash payment details are visible to anyone with the session link. An audience member's nickname, chosen gift, and shout-out text may be shown to others in the session, but only after the performer verifies the payment. Audience payment details (the GCash number paid from and any sender name) are visible only to the performer.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database, authentication, file storage) and Vercel (hosting) to run StageTap. They process data on our behalf under their own security commitments. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
Account information is kept while your account is active. Audience participant records and requests are kept for a limited period after a session ends (our target is 90 days) and are then deleted or anonymized. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics may be kept longer.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access and correct your data, to object to processing, to erasure or blocking, to data portability, and to damages. You may also lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. Performers can delete their account at any time, which removes their profile and associated data. To exercise any right, contact us at the address below.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted, and the database enforces row-level security so each account can only reach its own data.
Children
StageTap is not directed to children under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
